Most foreign visitors will enter Tokyo from Narita International Airport. Located on the eastern side of the Greater Tokyo region, Narita International Airport (NRT) is just 70 km (around 40 miles) northeast of Tokyo city centre, in Japan’s Chiba prefecture. Over the years, Narita Airport has grown into one of Japan’s most important international air facilities and links cities in Asia, Europe and the USA. NRToffers several ways to get into the city.
Trains are the fastest and the cheapest way to get from the airport to Tokyo. It takes about 95 minutes and people might change train 2 or 3 times. It costs around 1,520 yen for one person. People can choose several companies such as JR Narita Express (N’EX) or Keisei.
?Buses (Limousine buses) run from Narita to many of Tokyo’s top hotels. Prices are around 3,000 yen and take about 75-110 minutes depending on traffic conditions. ?Though they are not the fastest or cheapest way of getting to Tokyo, buses are the easiest and most convenient for people with luggage.?
Taxis from Narita to Tokyo are very expensive and most likely won’t be any faster than an airport bus. The cost for taking a regular taxi from Narita Airport to Central Tokyo is around 30,000 yen. One reason for taking a taxi might be having too much luggage to carry into the train or inability to wait for the next bus. Trains and buses are better options because taxis often get stuck in traffic.
?The last option is the helicopter. Though it is the quickest way of getting around, it is also the most expensive. A trip can easily run 300,000 yen. It takes between 12 to 20 minutes depending on the arrival location. Check Here for more details.
Courageous people can get to Tokyo’s city centre by walking. It’s over 70 km and takes about 14 hours, but of course it’s free!
